Enfim, o Jim arrumou um tempo para responder as perguntas, e devo dizer que valeu a pena esperar.
Speaking about the band Sparta:
The opportunities in a near future come out new songs, or even a new album?
JW: We have a lot of songs left over from the Threes writing session. I am not sure what will happen with those, they could be finished or maybe not… i wouldn’t be surprised if there was new music at some point. Some of us are having kids and working on different projects, so… who knows?
Speaking about the band Sleepercar:
Where does the inspiration to compose music of a style, say, very different from Sparta or even of At the Drive-in?
JW: It comes from being an american writer. As I have developed as a writer, I have found a lot of inspiration in the american writers of past generations, from Hank Williams to Gram Parsons to Tom Petty. These are writers that I have grown to love and respect and admire.
Sleepercar seems a band of road, you captured it, a spirit of road, when I see pictures of different places, it comes in my head. The Sleepercar is a band with your feet on the road “?
JW: It goes hand in hand with the sprit of the americas I think… the open road, a frontier. Most of my adult life has been on the road with bands. I love it as much as I love anything. The road is where I feel at hme. It is a constant source of inspiration.
How do you feel doing something planned for so long time?
JW: It was a hell of a good feeling to finish something I started 7 years before. It took a long time to get where I was going, but it was a nice feeling to arrive. I learned a lot along the way, which was the point really…
Talking about the song “A Broken Promise”, it fits in your life, in part to make dreams, make the thing to be done “today” and not leave them for later? In the sentence:”… Living like today’s the day …”"… I can not take this any longerI will die or become stronger … “
JW: I think that it is easy to write songs like that and harder to live that way, but through the song, I am trying to get to that point. I want to live like there is no tomorrow, but of course that is a journey and not a destination, it will take my whole life to figure it out, but I will continue to try. I love the idea of hope and desire, they are my greatest muses.
You have many Brazilian fans, has possibilities of Sleepercar come play in Brazil someday?(perhaps the band Sparta?)
JW: We have been close several times to figuring something out and it just hasn’t worked yet- perhaps this is the year- I would absolutely love to go to Brazil and as much of South America as I could- it is a dream.
And a little joke:What you have in your pockets now?
JW: 1 guitar pick. 1 Blackberry. 1 lip balm.
Finally, you could send a message to your Brazilian fans?
JW: It is an eternal honor to me that people continue to enjoy what I have made and what I continue to make. I could never thank everyone enough, but I will try. I hope on some higher power to see you all soon.
Thank you so much, I apologize head over heels for the time it took for me to respond. I appreciate the opportunity.
